Notes for Adam PRZYWITOWSKI

From Benjamin Przywitowski, Lynwood, Pa., his grandfatherand his grandfather's brother married sisters. So my greatgrandmother's sister was his grandmother. He does not know hisgrandparents names or where they were from in Poland. Both of thebrothers died very young and Benjamin heard that my great grandmother(Eva) re-married, but that her children all kept the Przywitowskiname. This may account for the differences in the numbers given as tohow many brothers and sisters my grand father John had, because he mayhave had a number of half brothers and sisters after his father died.
Benjamin is not sure if his grandmother remarried.
Przywitowski means "I greet you" or "come in" in Polish. It is a greeting or something a formal greeter would say to you whenyou entered the house, church, or, etc. One member of the familychanged her name to "Welcome". I have found a town not too far fromBiezun named Przywitowo (The town of Przywitowo is in WloclawekProvince, 13.3 miles WNW of Biezun) so it is very probable the namewould mean "from Przywitowo."
